Hi Everyone,
It turns out people have been working on the problem of making french fries in space - and they’ve made progress! (Which is news that made my day).
In my writing world, I’ve gotten Subject 34 (the conclusion to my Encoded Orbits series) back from my editor—and the good news it there are only minor issues. If all goes soothly, I hope to release the book in September (stay tuned).
In other news, someone left a lovely review of Day 115 on an Alien World: “Book was science fiction, but more importantly it was about people. The way they react under stress and love was evident”
And I just want to let everyone know that it’s free everywhere I have control over (Amazon sometimes does its own thing with items set to be free if it’s not free in your area head to the Armchair Alien shop and pick it up there)—but it won’t be forever. Grab it before it’s too late from one of the on-line stores, or direct.
One of My Guilty Pleasures
Every now and then, I read a Star Trek book (or a Firefly book)—I just finished Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The High Country by John Jackson Miller.
What they offer is predictability. I know and generally like the characters before I even start and nothing truly major is going to happen to them (because there is no character development), they just offer a fun ride. This particular one was a take on the idea that a utopia for one person is a dystopia for another and I enjoyed it.
Now I’m half way through Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor. It’s a silly time travel story and I’m loving it—and I’ve also just realized it’s part of a long series (14 so far), so these books might just get added to my guilty pleasure list.
What’s on your guilty pleasure reading list?
Now I need to get back to editing.
Cheers,
Jeannette
