Hi Everyone,
I love a wild place.
The picture above is how a typical winter looks on my non-tropical Pacific island. Grey sky and sea, wind, waves, buckets of rain—the kind of weather where all I want to do is curl up with a good book and hot tea. Right now snow is in the forecast, so I’ll double down on being cozy.
By the way, the beach above is Mystic Beach, a few kilometre hike from a parking lot—a nice day hike on a nice day. I took the photo above in November and it rained on us. The beach was fantastically wild.
Reviews for The Lost Star Chart
The Lost Star Chart comes out in just over a month! But, if you can’t wait, I have a few review copies available—that’s where I send you a free ebook copy with the expectation of an honest review on a platform of your choosing. If you’re interested, hit reply and let me know.
Also, there’s a silly short story featuring the main character from The Lost Star Chart over at the Armchair Alien site:
The story is complete and free (and there’ll be another one in February).
Other writing
The sequel to Hope is the Thing With Feathers has been sent off to my editor. They’ll be looking at it in February, then I’ll do another round of my own edits.
This novel goes in a very different direction with underlying themes of friendship and discovery. I’m really liking how it is shaping up.
In the mean time, I’m deep into a first pass of edits on my version of Journey to the Centre of the Earth. I think it’ll end up being a novella.
Awesome Things!
This time, I have two:
The first is a faux radio broadcast and I loved it. Hopefully there are more because I’m worried for Sven.
The second awesome thing is a music video:
I can’t imagine how difficult this was to choreograph with all the phones.
Cheers,
Jeannette
