Chaos avoidance and the final version of Day 115 on an Alien World
The making of chaos?
There’s a drawer stocked full of tea in my work desk. In a rush to get a cup of tea brewed before a meeting, I grabbed a bag and headed to the kettle. While walking, I glanced at the bag to see Chaos Tea.
Yeah, I miss-read the package. It actually was chamomile tea, but I like the idea of chaos tea - brew up a little bit of chaos! Steep for five minutes and unleash it on the world!
Fun chaotic mistakes aside, I hate being in a rush - it’s a fundamental part of my personality. I find those who thrive on rushing from thing to thing and always being late to be a little bit loonie (meant in the nicest possible way)
Generally, I set-up my life to avoid rushing (yep, I’m boring). For example, I get up probably an hour before I really need to just to drink a cup of coffee and stare out into space. I’m always the first one to arrive for meetings. My e-reader is always in my bag and ready for anytime I show up way early for an appointment (I end up reading a lot).
As part of my ongoing efforts to stay ahead of things, I’ve been working to finalize Day 115 on an Alien World. A kind friend went on a hunt through to find typos and missed punctuation (someday I aspire to master comma use - but that day has not yet arrived).
I’ve been pleasantly surprised that she’s found only a modest amount of typos. I’ve gone through a fixed them all, hopefully not adding more typos in the process. As a result, the final version is now done with plenty of time to upload before the book is available on Monday. If technology doesn’t fail me, I’ll have a couple of days to spare.
