a delightful futuristic device...

My husband's main hobby is making models--mostly World War II aircraft (check out his blog here where he goes into the ball's construction in detail). Recently he finished this model of a space going maintenance orb complete with a miniature cockpit and articulated arms.

I love the complexity he added from meteor damage to scuffed paint. It looks ready to do some work. Now is sits, overlooking my computer telling me to get writing.
